Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is an ortho X-ray?
A: An orthopedic (or "ortho") X-ray is a quick, painless imaging test that allows us to see bones and joints to evaluate for fractures, dislocations, or joint abnormalities. It's a valuable tool for diagnosing injuries and guiding treatment plans.
Q: When would I need an X-ray?
A: If you’ve had a fall, injury, or persistent joint pain and we suspect a bone fracture or need to rule one out, an X-ray is often the first step. We’ll perform a physical exam first and determine if imaging is appropriate.
Q: Can you treat the injury if it’s minor?
A: Yes! For minor fractures, sprains, or soft tissue injuries, we can often treat you in-office with bracing, slings, or rest recommendations. If you need orthopedic referral or more advanced care, we’ll help coordinate that, too.
Q: Do I need a separate appointment for the X-ray?
A: No, X-rays can typically be done during your visit if clinically indicated. We strive to make the process seamless and efficient.
Q: How much does an X-ray cost?
A: Ortho X-rays are priced affordably and billed in addition to the standard office visit. We’ll always provide a transparent breakdown before proceeding so there are no surprise charges.
Q: Will I get results right away?
A: In most cases, yes. Our provider will review the images during your visit and discuss the findings with you immediately. If needed, we may send the images for radiologist review as well for additional insight.
